The 5th EPCN Conference
"Little things mean a lot: understanding the role of ponds in a changing world"
that will be held in Luxembourg from June 4th to June 8th 2012
The conference will take place at the prestigious Neumünster Abbey (www.ccrn.lu) located in the historical centre of Luxembourg City.
Continuing the series of EPCN conferences, it will provide researchers, managers and other stakeholders with the most recent knowledge and data about the various aspects of pond ecology, protection and management.
The aim of the conference is to promote dialogue and facilitate the exchange of information and ideas between geographically diverse groups of researchers, managers and other stakeholders involved in research and practice pertaining to ponds. The scientific committee welcomes research-based as well as practice-oriented papers, from case studies to global strategies on the following themes:
Pond ecology
Ponds in the landscape
Ponds and society
Global change impacts on ponds
Pond protection
Special session of the international Pondscape project
The program will include keynote lectures, oral and poster sessions covering the multi-faceted aspects of knowledge about ponds. Several specialised workshops will be held in order to exchange views on policy, interactions with the landscape and practical considerations about pond management.
