A massive thank you to everyone who has donated to our Merseyside Sand Lizard Appeal, and is continuing to donate to this programme. Your vital donations have helped us to schedule this winter's work parties, by allowing us to buy hand tools and PPE, and pay for fuel.
We are also delighted to be able to announce that we have some diary dates for those of you who would like to take a practical step and join the local North Merseyside Amphibian and Reptile group with their habitat works, to rescue the delicate dune habitats that these animals depend on from invasive scrub, and create bare sand patches ready for the egg-laying season.
We have two weekends available in 2017: the 7th and 8th January, to help you work off some of the excess Christmas cheer; and 28th and 29th January to help beat the January blues.
If you are unable to join us, then you can still make a difference by donating – just £5.00 would help our volunteers go out and clear sand patches, £10 would help them to clear a metre of scrub. The more you can give the more effective we can be.
